Collagen stimulator with polylactic acid — long-lasting rejuvenation
The first generation of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA, the left-handed isomer) products appeared in the early 21st century, initially administered to HIV patients to restore facial volume following fat loss.

Polylactic Acid-Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) is a synthetic, biocompatible and biodegradable polymer that degrades to H2 O and CO2 within 1-2 years. It is used in surgical sutures, orthopedic implant materials, blood vessel transplant materials, etc.
What exactly do PDLLA microspheres do and how do they stimulate collagenogenesis?
Here’s how the process works:Injection of PlLA/PDLLA microspheres into the skin:During the procedure, microspheres (very small spherical particles) of the polylactic acid are injected into the skin. The body recognizes the polylactic acid and it signals them to activate immune cells and fibroblasts ( specialized cells in the skin that are responsible for producing collagen and other structural proteins).Collagen production: activated fibroblasts begin to produce new collagen, a protein that gives skin strength, elasticity and volume.Over time we have a gradual breakdown of the microspheres: the microspheres break down slowly and without residue over time, but while they are there they continue to maintain the stimulation of the skin to produce collagen.Result: after a few months, the skin is renewed, firmer, with better volume and improved texture – an effect that lasts up to two years after injection. Results and maintenance
– Lenisna and Juvelook have an immediate effect because of the added hyaluronic acid. With Sculptra, the result unfolds over time.
– Formation of new collagen within 2- 4 months.
-Follow-up procedures are performed as needed at two-month intervals.
– Visible tightening of the skin – the effect lasts up to 2 years.
Products we use in our clinic:
– Sculptra® – poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)
– Lenisna® – poly-D-lactic acid (PDLLA) + hyaluronic acid
– Juvelook® – poly-D-lactic acid (PDLLA) + hyaluronic acid
Skulptra and Lenisna are used for loose skin on the face and body, while Juvelook is designed for the eyes, forehead and neck.
Juvelook is used for the eye contour, neck area and forehead. It also successfully fights pigmentation, acne scars and stretch marks.
