Azelaic acid has a bactericidal and exfoliating effect. It blocks the formation of comedones and is particularly effective in all subtypes of rosacea. It is recommended for all skin types and is safe for use during pregnancy. It can be combined with most cosmetic ingredients without causing adverse reactions.
Glycolic acid is extracted from sugar cane and has the smallest molecular structure, which allows for easier penetration into the skin. The concentration is high enough (34%) to work successfully for dermatological purposes, unlike cosmetic peels and products that go as low as 10% acidity. Glycolic acid dissolves dead cells on the skin surface, retains moisture, providing good hydration, stimulates natural collagen synthesis and inhibits melanin formation in the skin.
Lactic acid has a synergistic effect on the treatment of pigment spots by inhibiting melanin formation in melanocytes. It has an antioxidant effect.
Citric acid is also used as a pH buffer in skin irritation. It acts as an energizer and increases the relative thickness of the viable (non-horny) epithelium.
For a maintenance effect, a repeat course is necessary after about 6 weeks. In our clinic we create individual protocols according to the skin condition, and we also perform detailed sessions with our other treatments.
The duration of the procedure is 10-15 min.
It is necessary to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen.
4-5 treatments are recommended at intervals of 10-15 days during the autumn and winter period.
