Patients can expect a painless procedure that is performed with a local anesthetic. Swelling, bruising, and temporary bumps are possible after the procedure, which resolve on their own in about 7-14 days. Also 1 week after the procedure, heavy physical activity, saunas and steam baths should be avoided. Since the sutures are “stretched” to obtain the maximum lifting effect, patients may feel tension in their facial skin in the first 2 weeks after the manipulation.
